4. Back thigh stand

Top stands in front of base, facing same direction.  Base grasps top’s waist with both hands.  Top grasps base’s arms at wrists.  (Figure 4A)

Base bends legs until thighs are as nearly horizontal as possible.  Top leans back toward base and steps up with left foot on base’s left thigh and right foot on base’s right thigh, placing toes just above base’s knees.  (Figure 4B)

Top’s feet can be parallel with base’s thighs or slightly turned out.  Top straightens legs.  Base moves hands to top’s thighs, just above knees.  Top releases base’s wrists.  (Figure 4C)

Simultaneously, top leans straight body forward and base straightens legs and leans backwards.  (Figure 4D)

Stunt ends with top bending legs and jumping down to starting position.  Base returns hands to waist before top jumps down.

Spotting:  Spotter stands on top’s side and holds upper arm of top with two hands.

Lead-up:  Base sits in straight chair.  Follow procedure as outlined above to achieve final position.  Spotter can remove chair after base lifts off.

Variation 1:  Top can jump from both feet in starting position to stand on base’s thighs.

Variation 2:  In ending the stunt, as soon as top’s feet touch the ground, he/she performs a forward roll.  Base can also perform a forward roll, either in a slightly different direction or taking care to not collide with top, if in same direction – or base performs a back roll.
