Base lies on back; legs may be straddled or knees raised with feet on mat, to provide greater stability. Base extends arms vertically upwards or keeps elbows on mat, pressed against his/her body, with forearms extended vertically upwards. Top stands near top of base's head and places hands in base's hands, thumbs interlocking and index and middle fingers on either side of wrists. Top either kicks one leg upwards and then brings other leg next to first leg in vertical position or jumps from both legs into tucked position and then extends legs into straight, vertical position. Stunt ends by reversing motion, with top returning to original position.
Spotting : Spotter stands at top's back or side and holds near thigh of top with both hands.
Lead-up : Top can practice assisted handstands in order to get used to the inverted, vertical body position.
